Fresh Green Salad with Feta

Holistic Organic Sustainable Cooperative Organization (HOSCO) operates a food hub/commercial kitchen located at 1038 N. Sarah. North Sarah Food Hub is a unique cooperative model within the Missouri region. The cooperative model uses HOSCO’s 3 part aggregated food model, the commercial shared kitchen which processes and packages produce received from the farm cooperative and these products are then distributed through our online and brick and mortar grocery cooperative. HOSCO is dedicated to developing educational and entrepreneurial projects that address the needs of its core community.  North Sarah Food Hub was established for residents seeking to take ownership of their local food system and serving as a springboard for your aspiring culinary professionals.  Our food hub is established in the center of a development directly located in a Promise Zone. We service a population of about 13,000-16,000 people with 9,600 living directly within our partnering developers properties.   Although we serve a variety of individuals in need our key audience consists of single and expectant mothers with limited financial resources, low income families, SNAP recipients and young single millennials living in Wards 4, 5, 18, 19 and 22.

North Sarah Food Hub opened its doors the week of March 22, 2020 and has been supporting communities to flatten the curve on the spread of COVID-19 by making and distributing meals through a pickup and delivery model. We serve homebound seniors, families associated with SLPS students and other low income residents within North St. Louis City and County neighborhoods using two commercial vehicles along with additional delivery services through our collaborative partners like Urban Strategies, St. Louis Housing Authority,  St. Louis Community Foundation, St. Louis Public Schools, Americorp/East St. Louis, Alderman Brandon Frazier Bosley and local churches.  As of June 25th we have delivered approximately 40,000  meals.
